This included an eight-week global health clerkship in Uganda where she studied in both rural and urban hospital settings. She spent several weeks in the HIV/TB ward at Mulago Hospital in Kampala and then traveled to Nkosi and studied in a small medical clinic and visited villages to promote health. In addition to her studies, she made time to serve as an English tutor to Bedouin children, and to play soccer for a women’s professional team.

Dr. Jansen is honored to care for the Santa Barbara community she grew up in and loves so much. She aspires to provide continued compassionate patient-centered care in her practice. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, women’s health, nutrition, and managing the chronic disease for longevity and quality of life.

Dr. Jansen attended Washington Elementary School, La Cumbre Junior High School, and San Marcos High School where she is a frequent guest-speaker for the San Marcos Health Academy to share her career path with aspiring young health professionals. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children in the beautiful outdoors of Santa Barbara.

Dr. Jansen was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2012. She is an active member of the Medical Staff of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, Department of Internal Medicine.
